This is a painting of the War of Irish Confederacy (1641-1652). Pierce Ferriter served as officer in this war. As leader of the war, Ferriter was wounded during an attack on the Tralee Castle in 1641. His forces where still able to hold the castle up until the fall of the Ross Castle.
